Belleville is growing! Here are some exciting new development proposals and updates that will shape our community.

Hanley Park North Subdivision

Location: Part of Lot 14, Concession 1, Belleville

Applicant: Macauley Shiomi Howson Ltd.

Revised Proposal (March 2022)

The Hanley Park North Subdivision is getting a fresh new look! The updated plan includes:

  • 74 single-detached homes: Spacious, family-friendly houses in a new Residential Fourth Density (R4) Zone.
  • 29 townhouse units: Modern townhouses in a new Residential Fifth Density (R5) Zone.
  • Parks and walkways: Beautiful open spaces in an Open Space (O1) Zone for everyone to enjoy.
  • Environmental protections: An Environmental Control Zone to preserve the natural beauty of our area.

This revised plan aims to create a vibrant and sustainable community with a total of 103 homes.

Initial Proposal

The original plan for Hanley Park North was even bigger, featuring 156 homes, including 99 single-detached houses and 57 townhouses. This plan also included parks and environmental protections to ensure a green and welcoming neighborhood.

Location: 174 Maitland Drive, Belleville

Applicant: 2777302 Ontario Inc.

What’s the Plan?

Big changes are coming to Maitland Drive! The proposal includes:

  • 36 single-detached homes: Perfect for growing families.
  • 23 townhouse units: Stylish and convenient living.
  • 38 back-to-back townhouses: Modern designs with plenty of space.
  • A stormwater pond: Essential for managing rainwater.
  • Recreational open space: A great spot for community activities and relaxation.

The plan is to change the area from Commercial to Residential to accommodate these new homes.

Supporting Studies

To make sure everything runs smoothly, the proposal includes various studies, such as a Planning Justification Report, Noise Study, and Traffic Memo.

What’s Happening?

What’s the Plan?

The proposal aims to rezone 40 Wilson Avenue to allow for:
